[English]

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of the course on principles and methods of teaching based on artificial intelligence on the academic engagement and academic achievement of student teachers in the field of elementary education at Farhangian University.  The present study was an applied study based on its purpose and in terms of implementation; it was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design with a witness group. The statistical population of the study included student teachers in the field of elementary education at Shahid Maghsoudi Campus of Farhangian University of Hamadan in the academic year 2024-2025. 80 people were selected using simple random sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental groups of 40 people and a witness group of 40 people. The data collection tools in this study included the academic achievement test and the Rio standard academic engagement questionnaire (2013). The experimental group was trained for 8 sessions of 45 minutes with the help of artificial intelligence, and the witness group was trained using the traditional method (lecture. After collecting data, data analysis was performed at two descriptive and inferential levels using SPSS 27 software. The findings showed that teaching the course on principles and methods of teaching based on artificial intelligence had a significant impact on the academic achievement and engagement of students and teachers at Farhangian University. It can be concluded that the use of artificial intelligence in teaching leads to the enhancement of students' academic achievement and engagement in the classroom. Therefore, it is recommended that students use artificial intelligence as an assistant to design teaching scenarios, evaluate, assign assignments, and provide feedback.
