Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of the teaching method based on the Lowman’s 2-D Model on the components of responsibility and academic enthusiasm of boy in high school students. The research method was a semi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The study population in this study was all boy students in the second course of high schools in Bukan city. 40 students were selected by convenience sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (20 experimental and 20 control). Then, the experimental group was subjected to the teaching method based on the Lowman’s 2-D Model, and the control group did not receive any training. To collect data, the Soroush Student Responsibility Questionnaire (2013) and the Fredericks et al. Academic Enthusiasm Questionnaire (2004) were used, and multivariate analysis of covariance in SPSS-25 statistical software were used to analyze the data. The results showed that the teaching method based on the Lowman’s 2-D Model is effective in improving the components of personal and social responsibility and behavioral, emotional and cognitive enthusiasm. According to the findings, it can be stated that the components of responsibility and academic enthusiasm are improved by using the teaching method based on the Lowman’s 2-D Model.
