Abstract

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of the problem-solving approach with Adobe Flash software on the academic motivation and creativity of male elementary school students in the experimental science course. The present study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design. The data collection tool for academic motivation was a pre-test-post-test. The tests were in the form of pencil-paper and contained 20 questions with a total score of 20, which were conducted virtually on the ETA channel. The Torrance Creativity Questionnaire (1981) was used to measure the creativity component. The statistical population was all male sixth grade elementary school students in Fereydounshahr, Isfahan, with a total number of 1430 people. The simple random sampling method was used and the sample size was 40 people, including 20 people for class A and 20 people for class B. For analysis, the analysis of covariance test and SPSS software were used. The findings from the main hypothesis test showed that, considering the observed F statistic (25.17) and the obtained significance level (0.001), which is smaller than 0.05, it was significant at the 0.01 level. The coefficient of difference eta is 0.91, which indicates a high impact of the experimental intervention (Adobe Flash). The overall conclusion showed that the effect of the problem-solving approach with Adobe Flash software on the academic motivation and creativity of male elementary school students in the experimental science lesson of the elementary school in Fereydounshahr, Isfahan Province, has a significant difference.
